URL, JabRef BibTex, Abstract
The period since 1990 has witnessed rapid changes in demographic trends and in the occurrence and timing of family life transitions among young adults in the Czech Republic. Family formation was postponed and fertility rates declined sharply below the ‘lowest-low’ threshold during the 1990s. Fertility rates have increased substantially however since 2006. This study investigates the determinants of having a first and second child in Czech society and focuses on discovering the relationship between the risk of a first and second birth and different micro-level covariates. The author applied the event-history approach and Czech Generations and Gender Survey (2005) data is used.
