Upon launching the Generations and Gender Programme (GGP) in 2000, the UNECE Population Unit invited several prominent institutions in the field of population studies to form a consortium to develop the Programme and to assist in raising funds for its implementation. The major decisions upon steering the Programme are taken by the CB that includes senior representatives of the institutions of the consortium.

The GGP Coordination is currently composed of eleven institutions:

  • Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute (coordinator)
  • Institut national d'etudes demographiques (France)
  • Carlo F. Dondena Centre for Research on Social Dynamics at the Bocconi University (Italy)
  • Statistics Norway (Norway)
