The GGS Teaching Datasets, are a simplified extract of data from GGS-II Wave 1. This resource offers a unique opportunity to engage with real-world, cross-national survey data, allowing students and educators to explore key topics such as family formation, gender attitudes, and well-being. These datasets are designed to facilitate the teaching and learning of quantitative analysis in an accessible and practical way.
Two versions of the GGS Teaching Dataset are available. The Starter Dataset is perfect for those new to survey data, providing a smaller set of variables for introductory statistics and simpler analyses. For those looking for more complexity, the Advanced Dataset offers additional variables, including the dates of key life events, which can be used for survival and event history analysis.
Both datasets can be downloaded from the GGP Colectica platform and are available in SPSS, Stata, and Excel formats. A User Guide is provided to support users, along with two explanatory videos; one introducing the datasets and another offering an in-depth look at the variables included.
