URL, JabRef BibTex, Abstract
The purpose of the work is to identify the features of financial management in Belarusian and Russian families. The scientific novelty of the article is that it presents for the first time a comparative analysis of models of household budget management in the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation, as well as unique data of a large-scale of sociological study “Belarus: family formation, stability of family relations and fertility in changing socio-economic conditions”, conducted in 2017 by CSPR BSU under the program “Generations and gender”. The results of the work can be used in further studies of financial management in families, financial literacy, monetary behavior of the population; in the educational process of higher educational institutions in the preparation of specialists in the field of sociology, economics, psychology, social work; in the activities of bodies for social protection, psychological services. The introduction substantiates the relevance of the studied problem, gives a brief overview of the scientific literature on the topic. The main part of the article analyzes the data on Belarus and Russia, reflecting the objective and subjective factors affecting the system of distribution of money within the family. The results of empirical studies of family budget management in Belarusian and Russian families are also presented and compared. The conclusion reflects the main conclusions of the study. It is revealed that the most acceptable type of organization of income distribution for the residents of the two countries is the formation of the general budget and its joint management. The least popular model, which is followed by about 4 % of both Russians and Belarusians, is independent financial management, when each of the spouses independently manages their money.
