About the Project
The SoGreen project brings together four of Europe's leading social science research infrastructures — ESS ERIC, SHARE ERIC, GGP, and GUIDE — to study the human side of the green transition. Using a life-course perspective, the project examines how the shift to a greener economy affects different generations and socioeconomic groups across Europe.
Funded by the European Commission, SoGreen collects new survey data to shed light on how the European Green Deal impacts the wider population. By combining survey datasets with geospatial data and innovative visualisation tools, the project generates insights into the green transition at both national and regional levels.

GGP's Role
Within SoGreen, GGP plays a central role in shaping the survey instruments. This includes leading the development, review, selection, and adaptation of questionnaire items for the SoGreen module, ensuring they are age-inclusive, methodologically sound, and sensitive to the complexities of the green transition across the life course.
GGP is also coordinating fieldwork in Croatia Wave 2 and Poland In-Between Wave Survey and is responsible for linking environmental data with survey data collected in both countries.
Output
The following reports have been published as part of the project:
The SoGreen Module
This report presents the SoGreen survey module — a set of questionnaire items designed to measure public attitudes, behaviours, and experiences related to the green transition. It covers the conceptual framework behind the module and the process of item selection and adaptation across the participating research infrastructures. Find the module here.
Sustainability of the SoGreen Module
This report outlines the procedures put in place to ensure the long-term sustainability of the SoGreen survey module. It addresses how the module can be maintained, updated, and reused in future survey waves, supporting continuity of data collection on the social dimensions of the green transition. Find the module here.
