The 5th GGP User Conference was held at the Paris School of Economics, Paris, France, on 24-25 October 2019.
Overview
The Generations and Gender Programme, in collaboration with INED and the IUSSP, organized the 5th GGP User Conference, that brought together researchers working with data from the Generations and Gender Survey to present and discuss their most recent methodological approaches and empirical findings. The conference provided a forum for exchange of ideas among current as well as prospective GGP users, policy makers and the research community at large. An exceptional lineup of keynote speakers brought valuable insights and offered their expertise on diverse topics including the impact of economic insecurity on fertility in Europe by Daniele Vignoli (University of Florence), demographic trends in post-socialist countries by Sunnee Billingsley (Stockholm University), and relationship formation in the digital age by Michael Rosenfeld (Stanford University). 36 papers were presented in a total of 8 sessions, including 2 poster sessions. There was also a Data Visualization Workshop on 22-23 October.
