GGP joins forces with LISS in NWO-funded Deepfield Project

Published: September 10, 2026
Categories: Data, Impact

The Dutch Research Council (NWO) has awarded €3.5 million to the Deepfield project, a collaboration between ODISSEI, Centerdata and the Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute (NIDI) (via the Generations and Gender Programme (GGP)). The funding will enable the expansion of the LISS panel, Centerdata’s probability-based online research panel, from 5,000 to 10,000 households over the next five years. This expansion will create greater capacity for scientific research while further strengthening and modernizing the Dutch research infrastructure. In addition, the expansion will also allow NIDI-GGP to field – for the first time – part of its Generations and Gender Survey (GGS) as part of the LISS panel (wave 3 planned for 2029). This unique collaboration will provide a wealth of information about the GGS respondents. It will also allow the NIDI-GGP to assess how such an innovation could be integrated into its own operation.
